Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emmanuel Leutze

Can't forget that today is the birthday of George Washington. Here he is depicted on Christmas night, 1776. That's the Delaware River, those should be Durham boats, I believe, and early the next morning Washington would lead his nearly broken army into Trenton, rout the Hessian troops there, and turn around the fortunes of the American Revolution. He was truly the indispensable man. Happy birthday, General Washington.
