John Paul II retirement speculation

Karol Wojtyla, Pope John Paul II, will die in his own time. He will be pope until that moment. His senescence is no reason for him to retire.

Even when the time comes for him to hover between life and death, he will only remain in that state for as long as God wills it. The Church will not be harmed.

I've read news reports that the instrument of abdication has already been drawn up. Inability to fulfill the pastoral functions of the Bishopric of Rome or the administrative and/or political needs of the Papacy (cf. Celestine V) would be historically-recognized justifications for the act of abdication.
Completely unnecessary and irrelevant to this pope's status as the successor to Peter. He will die in his own time, as pope.
